READY PLAYER ONE - MECHAGODZILLA TRANSFORMATION
Working on “Ready Player One” while at ILM, I had the luck to comp the moment when the bad guy summons Mechagodzilla, a full cg long shot involving loads of td, env, fx, and 2d elements. Fun and challenging, it required a constant collaboration between departments. It was especially exciting to achieve the dolly zoom during the middle of the shot, referencing “Jaws“.
Just for fun, I’ve added a mix of soundtrack and effects from the 1974 movie “Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla“, where it makes its first appearance.
